lychee milk tea

Lychee milk tea is a must trying on hot summer days. It combines jasmine green tea, fresh lychee juice and milk of choice.

Ingredients

For boba pearls

  • 1/4 cup boba pearls
  • 3 L water
  • 1 tbsp. simple syrup or syrup of your choice

For each serving cup

  • 8 fresh lychee , skin and seeds removed
  • ice cubes , as needed
  • 1 jasmine green tea bag
  • 200 ml hot boiling water
  • 100 ml milk

Instructions

Tea Base

  • Soak jasmine tea bags in hot boiling water. Let the tea steep for about 3-5 minutes. Remove the tea bags and allow the tea to cool down in the refrigerator. 

Mash Lychee Fruits

  • Remove hard, brown seeds of fresh lychees. Mash them with muddler until juicy and well mashed.

Cook Boba Pearls 

  • Read the instruction on the package to see how much time needed for cooking the boba pearls. Put the boba pearls in boiling water and cook for required minutes (sometimes maybe 20 minutes or 5 minutes). Turn off the fire and leave the tapioca pearls for another time same as cooking time.
  • Rinsing under running water to remove extra starch. Then mix with syrup.

Assemble

  • Add ice cubes to the smashed lychee. Then pour in jasmine tea liquid and then the fresh milk.
  • Top with boba pearls. You can also choose to place the boba pearls at the bottom.
  • optionally you can adds ome extra sweetner. Taste before adding.
