Matcha liquid
- 2 tbsp. matcha powder
- 1 tbsp. white sugar
- 1-2 tbsp. hot water
- 1/4 cup water
Whisk the Matcha
Add the matcha powder to a measuring cup, then pour in 1-2 tbsp. hot water, whisk them until the matcha is perfectly blended, and turn into a slight paste state.Add another 1/3 cup of water and sugar. Hold the chasen with one hand and the bowl with the other to keep it steady. Whisk the matcha and water briskly in a "W" or "M" shaped motion. We need to aerate the mixture until a layer of froth forms on the surface.
