Matcha Lemonade

An icy, refreshing, heat-relieving, and appetizing matcha lemonade.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup lemon juice
  • ice cube
  • 1/3 cup pure water or coconut water
  • 1 tbsp. syrup
  • lemon slice

Matcha liquid

  • 2 tbsp. matcha powder
  • 1-2 tbsp. hot water
  • 1 tbsp. white sugar optional
  • 1/3 cup warm water

Instructions

Whisk the Matcha

  • Add the matcha powder to a measuring cup, then pour in 1-2 tbsp. hot water, whisk them until the matcha is perfectly blended, and turn into a slight paste state.
  • Add another 1/3 cup of water and sugar. Hold the chasen with one hand and the bowl with the other to keep it steady. Whisk the matcha and water briskly in a "W" or "M" shaped motion. We need to aerate the mixture until a layer of froth forms on the surface.

Squeeze the lemon juice

  • Roll the lemon on the countertop, applying a bit of pressure with the palm of your hand. Using a sharp knife, slice the lemon in half crosswise, not from end to end. Then squeeze the lemon juice either with hand or a lemon squeezer.

Assemble

  • Add ice cubes to the serving glass, and decoriate with three lemon slices into the glass.
  • Then pour in lemon juice, syrup, and pure water, finally pour in the matcha liquid, this lovely green refreshing drink is done.
