With sweetness and melt-in-mouth, this sweet cream cold foam is a drink recipe you can’t miss.
You may be familiar with it for coffee drinks, particularly iced coffee beverages such as Starbucks. Cold foam is usually made from cold, nonfat, or low-fat milk that is aerated to create a creamy, frothy texture. But making it at home without a special tool will be quick and hard.
My cold foam recipe included heavy cream with the correct ratio of regular milk. Because of its cold temperature and unique texture, cold foam adds a creamy mouthfeel to iced coffee without warming the drink or causing the ice to melt quickly. So, it is called cold foam.
This is a foolproof method using a milk frother. Take one sip, and your whole mouth will be filled with aroma. I also added some powdered sugar and vanilla extract to make it more flavorful and rich in multi-layered flavors. The vanilla extra is not essential; pass it if you don’t like it.
Tips
- chill the ingredients before making your cold foam
- Move your frother up and down slowly to guarantee an even texture.
- Whisk only 10 to 15 seconds. Don’t over whisk.
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup coconut water
- 1/3 cup coffee liquid
- ice cube
Cold Foam
- 2 tbsp. milk
- 3 tbsp. heavy cream
- 1 tbsp. powdered sugar
- 1/4 tsp. vanilla extract
Instructions
Whip the cold foam
Add heavy cream, milk, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract to a glass, mix with a frother and whip for 15-20 seconds.
You must insert the frother up and down to ensure the cold foam is thoroughly whipped. Stop whipping when the cold foam is double in size.
Assemble
Add ice cubes, coconut water, and coffee liquid to the serving glass, then pour in the cold foam. The cold foam will settle down slowly, a lovely process.
