If you are fruit tea lovers, try this iced pineapple jasmine green tea. I love the super summer style color as well as this lovely sweet and sour taste. It is made from fresh pineapple and only needs 5 minute preparation.
We have published lots of other iced fruit tea, remember to check our passion fruit mango tea.
Iced Pineapple Tea Ingredients
- Purified water for steeping the tea
- Pineapple chunks: you don’t need to use pineapple juice. We can use fresh pineapple.
- Lime slices: we add it because it can give the drink a complex sour taste. You can use lemon.
- ice cubes, optional
- sweetener- syrup : any type of syrup will work depending on your personal choice.
- Jasmine tea: my favorite way of matching with iced fruit tea is jasmine green tea. Jasmine green tea is green tea that flavored by jasmine blooms. For me, I think loral, slightly vegetal notes of jasmine tea pair well with the fruity tea. You may also try regular green tea or oolong tea.
How to make iced Pineapple tea
Step 1: steep the jasmine tea
Add around 1 tablespoon of jasmine tea in a cup, and then pour in 200ml purified water. Steep for 3 to 4 minutes. Strain the tea liquid and set aside to cool down.
Step 2: Puree the pineapple
In a muddler, add pineapple chunks, lime slices and ice cubes. Muddle until the pineapple pureed.
Step 3: Mix up
Pour in jasmine tea, and gently shake to mix up. Don’t over shake it, otherwise, there will be lots of foams. Or you can stir it well.
Step 4: Serve
Pour in serving cup and serve. I always add some fresh lime slices in serving cup for a better looking.
You can also choose to add some jelly as topping or sinker to create an even more interesting texture and taste.
