Thai tea boba is a combination of Thai tea and boba pearls. It is one of Thailand’s most popular drinks and my all-time favorite beverage.

Thai tea is a beautifully robust blend, often infused with spices like star anise and tamarind and sweetened with sugar and creamy condensed milk.

It is widely loved because of the rice flavor and the vibrant orange color. Bubble tea or boba originated in Taiwan with the most classic brown sugar boba tea flavor. If you want to expand your experiment in the world of bubble tea, try this Thai tea boba.

What’s Tai Tea

Tai tea is usually black tea with spices. You can get the mixed Thai tea mixture or use regular black tea as a base and add spices by yourself. The blended black tea has a strong aroma due to the spices.

When brewed, sweetened condensed milk is usually added to rich the flavor and taste of the Thai tea. I use the mixture this time.

How to make Thai Tea Boba

Cook the boba pearl

Firstly, pour some water into a pot and bring it to a boil. Once the water is boiling, add the Boba pearls and let them cook for five minutes or maybe 20 minutes, depending on the instructions on the package. After this, strain the pearls and rinse them with cool water.

Pour the cooked pearls back into the pot, add brown sugar, and add 1/3 cup of boiling water. Cook the mixture over low heat for another five minutes. Please remember to stir at all times to avoid burning.

If you are in a hurry, skip adding water. This batch of boba can be used with four servings of milk tea.

Assemble

Add 3 tbsp brown sugar boba pearls to the glass. Tilt the glass vertically and rotate it to coat the wall with syrup evenly. This will create a dirty, messy look similar to tiger milk tea.
